Youth Service Hawaii PDF Print E-mail

MBA Club Hawaii acquired its first client, the nonprofit organization Youth Service Hawaii. Youth Service Hawaii (YSH) does not only raise funds for charitable purposes as nonprofits commonly do, they focus on what they call “service learning”. The organization describes service learning as follows: “Service Learning is a method of teaching, learning and reflecting that combines academic classroom curriculum with meaningful service.”

The goal is to let students grow up with doing good to the community and to encourage them to keep doing so after growing up. YSH is interconnected with a variety of schools statewide. It sees one of its main purposes in serving educators across the state with service-learning resources.

It is the club’s task to create a business plan for the organization, which will ease future funding so that YSH is able to progress and extend its activities that have been held back by limited funding so far.

Members of the team include Nadine Beccu, Matthias Braun, Eirik Fagareng, Koichi Hozumi and Kelly Orr.
